"Donor declines to fund political opponents" shock

A LibDem commenter on PB.com is complaining that a donor threatened to stop giving money to the Conservative party if they didn't change their policy on the EU. Our commenting friend is called Roger (now, now, stop that) and he was there and heard it first hand. And he is shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Now, Roger, you are obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but that's your parents' fault, not yours, so I'll help you.

First, take your forefinger out of there and wash it. Then, use it to point to each word as as you read the following, - v e r y -- s l o w l y. I'll make the print a bit bigger for you. You may read out loud if it helps at all.

It is wrong to offer money to a political party with the primary aim of obtaining immediate business or financial advantage for yourself or your associates. We call this corruption.

It is not wrong to refuse to give money to a political party whose political aims you deplore. We would call that stupidity.

OK, Rog? Clear now?

Stupid bastard.
