Movin' out

In the year 2010, according to the World Bank:

What does a high rate of emigration say about all these countries? I said ALL these countries.

The UK has an increasing population. So who are all these people who are moving out? Predominantly to Oz and the USA, incidentally.

  1. What's the timescale for this figure? This year? Three years? Ten years? Without that it's rather like asking how long a piece of string is.

  2. This is for 2010. I'll put an update on the main post.

The point is the UK's relative position in a list of nations much poorer than us whose peoples think moving to another country will give them a better life.

  3. You mean people are leaving the UK in droves or arriving?

  4. Someone told me a couple of years ago that the population of Belgium is actually shrinking because of net emigration.

I can understand Oz (because you can't get into NZ), but why would you want to live in the USA?
