Feel-gooders and their playthings

"Modern-day activists need humanitarian crises in order to feel alive, purposeful, possessed of historic, Nazi-battling momentum. They live off ‘humanitarian crises’, like moral parasites on a hippopotamus’s arse, and thus it is in their interests always to exaggerate the extent of such crises. After all, the bigger the crisis, the bigger the thrill they get from tweeting about it."

O'Neill. Again.
